Mohamed Taman was born in Tanta. Bachelor in Fine Arts University of Helwan 1998, and a Master’s Degree from the Painting and Designing Department 2004. He paints using a technical process he invented called “Tamanism,” characterized by layers of colors and materials that he makes by hand, using petroleum solvents to agitate the process. Taman lives and works in Cairo, and is currently the Director of the Research Art Center of New Media Arts under the jurisdiction of Fine Arts of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
