Agboola Johnson is a Nigerian artist from the town of Osogbo, known for his association with the Osogbo art movement. He studied art at the Nike Centre for Art and Culture. He is from Osogbo, a city in Nigeria with a rich artistic heritage and a hub for the famous Osogbo art movement, which began in the 1960s. Agboola Johnson received his art training at the Nike Centre for Art and Culture. The centre, founded by renowned artist Nike Davies-Okundaye, is a major pillar of the contemporary art scene in Nigeria and has supported many artists in the Osogbo school.
